Woodmeister Master Builders is a high-end residential builder and millwork company providing fine-quality renovations, custom cabinetry, architectural woodworking, and new home construction for discerning clientele. We are seeking an experienced Field Technician to add to our Service team who is responsible for services related to customer home maintenance contracts and warrantees. Provides service calls, home inspections, diagnosing problems, suggesting and executing preventative maintenance and performing a wide variety of home repairs and maintenance services to our clients homes. You must have the ability to work autonomously, as you may act as Site Supervisor on varying projects, diagnosing service-related issues.

This position is based on a work week of at least 40 hours within the standard work area which is defined by 2-hour radius of Boston.

*****May require overnight stay for projects outside the standard work area. Anticipated 2-3 weeks annually.

Responsibilities :

Provides prompt, skilled service to customers for a wide range of service tasks including home repairs, typical home-maintenance services including but not limited to the following:

  • Rough and finish carpentry related tasks.
  • Cabinetry repairs adjustments to cabinet doors, drawer slides, replace hinges.
  • Appliance installation, diagnostics & make minor repairs.
  • Perform selective demolition and preparation work.
  • Wall repairs including gypsum surfaces, preparation & paint.
  • Perform work associated with a typical Bathroom remodels as example: demolition, preparation, framing and fine finishes.
  • Installation of millwork fine finishes, cabinetry, standing and running trim.
  • Completion of preventative maintenance in customer homes performing seasonal maintenance related tasks as outlined by developed checklists.
  • Diagnose service calls from a variety related prompts including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general residence systems.
  • Perform a variety of home maintenance tasks such as cleaning gutters, minor roof repairs and minor concrete repairs.

You must be able to maintain 24/7 availability on a rotating schedule – typically one week on, three weeks off.

  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors understanding the scope to facilitate their services.
  • Identifies leads for new business with existing customers and ability to document critical information to Property/Project Managers for follow up.
  • Document activities, complete scheduled and assigned tasks, record time and materials accurately, process and submit all required paperwork timely.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the customers.
  • Maintain company quality, safety and cleanliness standards on all sites.

Education and Other Skills Required:

  • High school diploma, preferably from technical school with concentration in carpentry or construction preparation required.
  • Thorough understanding of residential maintenance and home repair including carpentry and construction techniques.
  • Able to follow direction, read and interpret blue prints and technical drawings, organize projects and manage resources.
  • Highly organized, able to think proactively with attention to detail, able to maintain multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Good communications skills, both written and verbal, ability to develop relationships with customers, sub contractors, co-workers.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Familiar with millwork installation techniques, cosmetic/touch-up painting skills, minor electrical, HVAC and plumbing skills.
  • Able to coordinate the activities of subcontractors to meet Woodmeister's quality standards.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Outlook, navigate internet, ProCore or similar software, confidence in using iPhone and apps.
