We are seeking an experienced Field Technician with a background in Finish Carpentry to add to our Service team. In this role you will be responsible for hands-on services related to customer home maintenance, repairs and remodeling. You will be responding to service calls, conducting home inspections, diagnosing problems, suggesting and executing preventative maintenance and performing a wide variety of home repairs and finish carpentry to our clients homes. You must have the ability to work autonomously on various projects.
Responsibilities :
Finish carpentry and installation of millwork fine finishes, cabinetry, standing and running trim.
- Repairs adjustments to cabinet doors, drawer slides, replace hinges.
- Appliance installation, diagnostics and minor repairs.
- Perform preparation and selective demolition.
- Wall repairs including gypsum surfaces, preparation & paint.
- Perform work associated with a typical Bathroom remodel as example: demolition, preparation, framing and fine finishes.
- Completion of preventative maintenance in customer homes performing seasonal maintenance related tasks as outlined by developed checklists.
- Diagnose service calls from a variety of related prompts including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general residence systems.
- Perform a variety of home maintenance tasks such as cleaning gutters, minor roof repairs and minor concrete repairs.
- Work collaboratively with subcontractors understanding the scope to facilitate their services.
- Document critical information to Property/Project Managers for follow up.
- Document activities, complete scheduled and assigned tasks, record time and materials accurately, process and submit all required paperwork.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers.
- Maintain company quality, safety and cleanliness standards on all sites.
Education and Other Requirements:
High school diploma, preferably from technical school with concentration in carpentry or construction preparation required.
- Thorough understanding of residential maintenance and home repair including carpentry and construction techniques.
- Able to follow direction, read and interpret blue prints and technical drawings, organize projects and manage resources.
- Highly organized, able to think proactively with attention to detail, able to maintain multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal, ability to develop relationships with customers, sub-contractors, co-workers.
- Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Familiar with millwork installation techniques, cosmetic/touch-up painting skills, minor electrical, HVAC and plumbing skills.
- Able to coordinate the activities of subcontractors.
- Computer skills related to Microsoft Office.
- ProCore and Sharepoint or similar software experience preferred
You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a company vehicle. The radius of this job is within a 2 hour area of Boston, MA.
You must be able to maintain 24/7 availability on a rotating schedule – typically one week on, three weeks off.
This position may require overnight stay for projects outside the standard work area. Potentially 2-3 weeks annually.
