We are hiring an experienced Lead Millwork Estimator to join our team. In this role you will support the sales process by developing detailed cost estimates for a variety of millwork projects. This impactful position offers the opportunity to work cross-departmentally in partnership with sales, production, and our project management teams.
Responsibilities include:
Follow company-established standardized procedures, methods, and processes for estimating.
- Prepare cost estimates for millwork projects as assigned.
- Perform takeoffs of material requirements and solicit vendor quotes for custom material elements of projects.
- Estimate man-hour requirements for products and services and update database with applicable details and bill rates.
- Provide written descriptions of work to be performed and coordinate language with Account and/or Project Manager for sales proposals.
- Prepare estimates for changes throughout a project.
- Research new vendors and schedule in-house demonstrations.
- Review purchase order requisitions for accuracy and consistency with project requirements.
- Provide detailed project cost reports in support of all estimates utilizing company estimating software.
- Communicate project requirements effectively with co-workers and clients as required.
Qualifications:
At least 8 years' experience working as an Estimator in the field of millwork.
- Some experience with residential construction is required.
- Prior hands-on project management experience in estimating, constructing, or millwork.
- Must have experience with computer-based takeoff software such as Bluebeam.
- This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent math, verbal, and written communication skills are required to succeed.
- Able to interpret blueprints, perform takeoffs, and visualize end-result from construction drawings or renderings.
- Must be able to efficiently schedule all aspects of estimating with solid time management skills.
- Qualified candidates should completely understand the millwork construction and fabrication processes.
- Good computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and ability to learn in-house company estimating software.
